Short answer, ALL of them. As far as the most..... I would have to say the Maryland for collector grades, and the Brasher for those with unlimited budgets.

I also like just about all of them and don't put one over the other because of cost. We still have pictures and since I am budget strained that is good enough for me.

I have had the 1787 Massachusetts "transposed arrows" cent (see pic) It
is extremely rare and the auction value has skyrocketed. A VF
transposed arrows recently went for $169,000 and an uncirulated went
for $399,000 (stacks coin sale) Mine is worn, probably F. But happy to
have one of the rarest colonials if not THE rarest.

Thanks. My Great Grandfather gave me a few stamps and coins he had in
the mid 60's. That is when I began collecting. The colonial was in the
batch. I had it all those years until I finally tracked it's rarity in
Coinage magazine and the Redbook in the late 70's, then sent it to
ANACS in'82--this way before the internet.

I agree, they all will, but if you are asking for one, I would say it might be a Higley. They have done very well, and are still under appreciated by many collectors. |
