I got a qurater in my change yesterday that looked like it had been colored. I went home and washed it then took my wifes jewlery cleaner to it. The copper color remained. I checked with a website for errors and found that this is where the silver didn't cover the face or back.
Is this coin, 1994 D, of any value more then 25 cents?
Thanks
Tom

First of all, its recommended that you never clean a coin, it can cut its value almost in half!
![]() It is possible that the outer clad layer of the coin never made it on, so this would be an error coin. A quarter should weigh 5.670 give or take a little. If it is way off from that it is most likely an error (or a fake). If you can perhaps post a picture of your coin, we can help you determine if it is real or not and what its value is. If it is real, its worth well over 25 cents. -Rob Edited by Starwarsfreak - 28 Nov 2006 at 10:52am |

If the weight is less than whatit is supposed to be, it is probably the results of chem students with a little acid.
