Policies for using this forum

Something which is fairly new is the presence of a column of ads down the right-hand side of the forum.  I don't mind it so much on the "contents" page, but it seems to interfere with the photos (especially) and the text  of the letters posted on each forum.  Is it just my computer (which, I admit, is not an up-to-date device...at least it runs on electricity rather than kerosene) or is this the case for everyone?  Is the ad column really limiting the right margin as I imagine or are the photos too large for the canvas?  If the ads really are limiting the space for the forum, can the column be removed from the communications pages and be relegated to the directory page only?
