I normally use NGC as my grading service, but I found it to be frustrating when I was just trying to get a $30 coin graded to having to pay $17 + shipping and all the shipping supplies, plus having to send in 5 coins minimum. It just seemed like I might as well go buy more raw coins with that money.
So I did a little research and I came across this small grading website, called www.wcgservice.com the prices seemed resasonable so I tried them out. Im just wondering if its ok if I use them, or if it destroys the value of them. The coins came back where I expected.. They graded comparably to my NGC coins, some were a grade higher (cheaper coins) and 1 coin was actually a grade lower! Their holders are pretty good, considering that I am only paying $8-10 a coin including the holder and shipping. They noticed a error on my coin that I didnt catch which was nice as well. However, I am worried that because they are so little that they will not add any value to my coins. In some cases grading services like INB or SGS wreck the value of the coin just because of the case its in... I just want to know if its a good idea before I send in another batch. Obviously I do not trust them with my best coins yet, maybe in the future if they get more well known. Just wanted to know your thoughts about it.

Thanks!

ICG has been around longer you may try them.  Stick with the big guys like pcgs, ngc, anacs, icg. PCGS and NGC are consider by some to be most accurate and add the most value to a coin. You can buy your own coin holders to protect coins if you are not really trying to slab a coin for value an preservation, this is cheaper...

I use the big dogs, yet they charge a lot more.

I am only using this service for cheaper coins.

I refuse to pay $30 to get a $30 coin graded.

After you buy all the stuff to ship the coin, then pay to have it returned ship, its 30++

I have used ICG.

Thanks for the feedback though!

I think I will use them as it costs a little bit more then buying slabs, yet they also check for errors etc.

Thanks for the feedback!
