Hi Everyone - I had a chance to try out my metal detector in our complex. Well, it wasn't very productive, but at least I know it works.
I found one very dirty, covered with cement, 10 penny nail!
Whoopee!!
Yep, the beach is the place to go unless the city doesn't mind you making holes in the local parks. It's fun to go searching for something, anything!!

Hey Dan,
What kind of metal detector do you use? I am considering one and see that there are many different types!

I have a few metal detectors and one gold detector I use when I go the mountains. I prefer the gold detector in city parks. I find more jewelry then coins. Old house-places in the country are the real ticket and relocated towns such as the one I live in. The original town is an old site with no structures left but have found good coins and old artifacts. Also a good place I found in the woods in arkansas are the old indian burial mounds. just dig around the mounds not in them.

Hi Coldshot - I do envy you having access to woods and remains of places. Those places I would really enjoy visiting and hunting for whatever shows up. Good Luck!
