Sometimes coins do get offset like that... if it is real it could be worth some bucks. Try fred weingberg's error coin site.

So I am looking at this 2006 Australian Red Back Spider silver coin on
Ebay that is selling for 1100-1500 dollars and I'm trying to get my head
around that. It originally sold from the Perth mint for 74.00 au .
This coin is gorgeous but what in the world makes it so valuable???? The
2 coins on ebay now end Monday night. Anybody know if this coin is worth it?

I once found a 1976 half dollar but nothing unique. My grandfather was a coin collector so I would like to get into collecting coins too but I don't know where to begin. One of my friends suggested I go to ebay but I am not sure about ebay. Has anyone bought or sold coins on ebay? If so was it a good or bad experience?

Dear Community
I have joined today as I have found two coins in my grandfathers belongings who sadly passed away in December. These are One Dollar coins and are silver coloured dated 1885 & 1884 I didn't think much of them until I walked past an antique shop selling coins and I thought, "wonder what their worth". so I yesterday (last night infact) I looked up what the coin said in Google and learnt what mint marks to check for the 1885 does not have a mint mark but the 1884 has an S which I think according to websites is rare so I've spent all day trying to figure out if this thing is real ? and im scared to take it to a shop it case they tell me its not and I look silly. My grandfather does not as far as I know have a connection with the US he was a compulsive buyer as I've noticed by cleaning out his bungalow. i have looked at some things to try and see if its real or not I took it out of the plastic cover & weighed the 1884 and it did weigh 26.73 grams but the scales I'm using are certainly not high precision just cheap digital £10 scales the condition is pretty good but I ddon'tunderstand what a vf or ms quality would mean I have tried to upload some pictures but they are too big. I have read some posts on here and it sound like you guys can help. thank you in advance for any help you can give.
