Too hard to tell. Looks more dirty than toned in the pic. There is a little splotchyness, which looks a lot like natural toning.
The important part is,,,,,,,You are happy.

You can get a nice Franklin half cheap. I recently bought a 1951 Franklin half dollar graded MS-60 (raw, not slabbed) for $6 from a coin dealer. I know you are on a budget since you are only 13 or 14 years old (I assume you were born in 1992 hence your user name). I'm younger than most collectors also, so I know what it is like.
The hard part is actually finding a nice coin for such a cheap price. It really depends on where you live.
I'll try to post a pic sometime. Edited by paul1980 - 12 Jul 2006 at 9:05pm |

It looks like a mixture of dirt and tone.I personally like the look. My avatar picture is of a gold coin that has the perfect mixture of dirt and tone and I strive to find more examples with the same look.k

I like Franklins. I've gotten a few from a guy at the flea market for 5-7 bucks that are in about the shape shown above. The guy has a nice Full Bell Line that he wants $35 for, but I don't remember the year.
