Help identifying copper coin

Hi all - new to this forum and new to coin collecting...
Any assistance in identifying this coin? When purchased, the info was that it was an unknown copper coin that looks like it's from Medieval Europe. One side looks like it has a plain cross (in the photo, the cross would be sideways). The other side I'm unsure - almost looks like a crab to me. Both sides have a circle of dots. It weighs 7.25 grams. Thanks a bunch!
