Hi, I'm new in the forum and wanted help with some coins I had for some time now. I found them in my grandfathers house, and don't know anything about them. My grandfather has died a couple years ago, so it would be dificult to get info there.
I uploaded the photos to the web http://picasaweb.google.com/nicowall/Monedas?feat=directlink If someone could help me I'd be very gratefull. thanks |

Hi 'nicowall' From what I see, you have the following coins (starting from left to right, top to bottom in your photo gallery).
1-2.) Egypt-10 Qirsh 1293AH Year 10/1884 AD
3-4.) Nigeria~British West Africa-1/10 Penny 190?
5-6.) Morocco-5 Mazunas 1330 AH/1911 AD
7-8.) Argentina- 1 Argentio/5 Gold Peso 1881
9-10) Argentina- 1 Argentio /5 Gold Peso 1896
The photo image was too small to read the exact date of the Nigerian coin, but it looks like it dates from 1907-09. The two Agentinian coins are a real find. According to Krause's 2008 catalog, these go for $250+ each since they look to be in high grade. You should have these coins appraised by a professional numismatist. This is quite a keep-sake your grandfather left you. I hope this information helped.
