I have heard it is a good metal detector for the price your paying. I use to have the whites mtx water metal detector and was very thrilled with it. Unless your going to use it everyday I believe this detector will be good enough for what you may use it for. I saw this on ebay for two hundred dollars!

I bought a garrtte 1350 and it cost $650.00!though I never had luck with metal detector.I don't no why.
They say it is one of the best metal detectors but I think it is not good. You know I dug up a soda can and it said it was money.I don't know if I should trust that thing. Edited by coin crazy!! - 24 Aug 2006 at 1:05pm |

I have had different detectors through the years since the mid 80's. None of them are worth a dime until you use them and get to know how they work on specific coins at specific depths...and it takes a while. Many old users make 'gardens' to learn their newer detectors.
My latest buy was the Garrett Ace 250. I have owned much higher priced detectors and I have to confess that this one is the best I have used for coin detecting...without a doubt. But, each of us has our own opinion. This is mine for the Garrett Ace 250. Worth the money!

I have had an Ace 250 for about 3 weeks now.. It works great and even found my first silver coin with it last weekend. A 1944 Filipino dime Ten Centavos error coin ..With any new Metal Detector it take time to learn the machine and the different signals and tones that it gives you. Whatch what it is telling you and dig everything until you learn it well. Gold rings show up as pull tabs and nickles.. If you cursor is jumping from one coin or item to another it may be junk.. but if it stays on say 25 cents etc it is usually a quarter. For the money it is one of the best starter detectors you can buy. I did a lot of research before I settled on it for a starter machine.
