Hey folks, first time here, diden't know if this was the correct section to post this. Anyway, I recently found a few Franklin Mint coin sets and can't seem to find much info on them on google. Since I know essentially nothing about modern coins (I collect ancients) I thought i'd ask you guys:
All three are in binders with COAs from the mint:
1971 Historic Silverseals of the states of the Union (this is a book with silver replicas of all 50 state seals) I also have two books titled:
Coins from All Nations (I can't find a date on these but these seem to be all first day covers with coins on them from various diffrerent countries around the world, the books are not the same so I assume they are a part 1 and 2 of sorts) Anyway, anyhelp will be greatly apprieciated, looking to find out whatever I can about these, value/rarity etc...
Thanks,
Kyle

As a general rule Franklin Mint products carry no numismatic premiun (in fact they are NOT coins, they are medals or bullion rounds). Basically, evern though they tend to be pretty and well made, they are only worth their melt value. Usually they are 1 oz silver coins, so they are worth about $12 each right now, maybe a little more if you can find a collector of whatever subject they depict.

Go directly to the Franklin Mint web sight and make inquiries there for the most current information plus you should be able to contact a customer service associate who could give you the proper contacts to resolve your question. Michael

Some of the Franklin Mint Coins of all Nations sets contain some highly desirable coins. Many now list at high prices so don't assume these are all just junk. Some that don't list at high prices will in the future.
They took a lot of care with quality on most of their products but prices tended to be extremely high and then buyers were further injured by dramatic drops in metals prices.

Do you happen to have a list of the better nations? I have a couple of these sets, and see some bring some real money on eBay. Thanks! Rich |
