When purchased, the info was that it was an unknown copper coin that&nbsp;looks like it's from Medieval Europe.&nbsp;One side looks like it has a plain cross (in the photo, the cross would be sideways). The other side I'm unsure - almost looks like a crab to me. Both sides have a circle of dots. It weighs 7.25 grams.     <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.coinforum.com/member_profile.asp?PF=3456">KaraS</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> Can 1943 steel penny be brown?<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 02 Feb 2012 at 4:18pm<br /><br /><P>I had a 1943 penny which looked like all the other old pennies I have - dark brown.&nbsp;It has gone missing but I need to know that the steel pennies can look like copper pennies of that time.&nbsp; If it is gone for good I'd like to believe it was not copper.&nbsp; I had only saved it because I'd heard that year pennies&nbsp;were made of steel and thought it was interesting.&nbsp; I&nbsp;had examined it, there was no silvery color to it and I did not attempt to clean it.</P>]]>
