can any body reccomend how to get rid of a half dollar kennedy mint bag for more than face value or any site to research current rates or a reliable honest dealer who can assist a novice collector wannabe seller>?

Where are you? Dealers will always offer less than retail, otherwise they cannot make a profit.
Go to a coin show and get multiple bids.
