1972 Penny with Kennedy Face

   So at work tonight, as I was looking through a cash drawer, this penny caught my eye.  It has some kind of outline embedded directly to the right of Lincoln's nose/mouth of Kennedy's face.  It's not like someone took a knife or sharp pointed object to it, but a machine or some sort was use.

I have been doing some little research on unusual coins in the common man's collection, but never have heard of anything like this.  It could very well have been done in some way by somebody, but it just seems so weird to see Kennedy's face on the penny.

Oh, and it is a 1972-D.

Anybody seen one of these before?  Was it made by Mint factory or by some person?
I appreciate the feedback.

	thousands were made by some co. after they were struck. very common. they were used in those "amazing coincidences between lincoln & kennedy" souvenirs. K S
