the only 2 over 1 I have ever seen the 1 was more distinct that this one...but could be the 2 over 1 merc error...really hard to say on this one

It's possible. Note the faint appearance of a doubling on the right side of the 4. This is what is really noticable on the 42D/41. Without that doubling on the 4 it usually is not a true 42D/41 but just an image distortion or wishfull thinking.
