Hello,
I am in need of some expert advise please. I have been given a 1942 and a 1944 walking liberty half dollar. Nothing strange there you might think, but I have now found that the reverse of the 1942 half dollar is the right way up when flipping the coin vertically (as you would expect - it appears like on the modern day one ounce investment coins) but the 1944 version has the reverse the right way up if you flick it horizontally. Hope this makes sense? Basically the reverse of the coin is differently alligned to the front. 1942 = Eagles feet to Liberty's head, 1944 = Eagles feet to Liberty's feet. Is this correct or is one of them fake? Help... |
