Hi Pondo

 

Just saw this now as I've recently become interested in Sovereigns.

As you probably can imagine - it's alway impossible to tell from a photo - especially this one.

I'll take your word that it has no mint marks [Sydney, Perth etc].

The colour is hard to judge. Compare this colour to another sovereign - if you have one.

Weight??? should weigh 7.99 gr - will be impossible to tell as it's mounted.

quality of impression - looks OKish - but again hard to tell.
 
I've probably not given you any meaningful information - but my advice is to take it to a reputable coim merchant.
