Thank you. But I have never cleaned it and had it for over 30 years, why does it look cleaned?

I am not an expert on AU/Uncircs, but the reason I feel it was cleaned is if you look in the obverse and reverse fields, particularly in the obverse field in front of Liberty's face, on the cheek of Miss Liberty, and in the fields beside the eagle's wings on the reverse, you see little scratches and shiny areas signifying it was probably abrasively cleaned or whizzed at one time. Also, the luster and toning pattern does not seem right on the coin. The toning not only looks unnatural (unusual color) for a Silver coin in that high of a grade, it also looks interrupted in the cleaned areas.
Just my honest opinion, hope you're not offended. CC |

1897 Morgan silver dollar proofs ware issued in 1897, and all of these were at the Philadelphia mint. The proof seem to be selling for just under $ 3000.00.
