Hi, I have a coin that has 1804 flowing liberty hair on the front, and on the back it has the united states of america trade dollar, 420 grains, .900 fine with the S stamp. My question is I don't know much about coins, but ran across this coin after my grandmother passed away. I have included pics as it doesn't match up to the other 1804 coin that is worth $1 mil +. Can you please help me out in identifying if this is a fake, reproduction or what? Also, what would it be worth. Thanks for your help.

It's a fake. I don't even know what the counterfeiter's intentions were. The coin has a reverse of a trade dollar and the obverse of an 1804 silver dollar. No such coin could ever possibly exist.

Interesting though. I've always thought a collection of fakes would be neat. I was going to buy a fake Trade Dollar awhile back, but someone beat me to it.

Simple - to fool newbies who think they found an extremely rare mule and thought they have won the jackpot. Chances are, you are much likely to win in a lotto instead of finding such bizarre errors. Welcome to coinforum by the way.
