I cannot find threepences issues for general circulation around 1762 in my Coin Yearbook 2007 edition but there is one listed in the "Maundy Oddments" section. The threepences started under William IV in 1834 for circulation in the Windies. There is only one image of a George II threepence with bust facing left, slightly different guy - all three Georges I, II and III were related by a generation leap, the first being grandfather of the second who was grampa' to 'mad King George' the third - the bust faces left on the obverse but the reverses look pretty much the same.
The dealer values of these coins are £16, £30 aand £50 from F to EF consecutively but nothing is given for UNC! I think you got a good value for your little piece :D |

This is a nice specimen. Please kindly confirm - you are saying that this is a '3-cent piece" used here during the U.S. Colonial period, before the Revolution period? Thanks, - CheetahCats |
